Welcome New Students and Families!
As coordinators of Creighton's Welcome Week Program, we are excited to welcome and support you as you start the next chapter in your life as a Creighton student. The theme for this year's Welcome Week is Embrace Your Journey. We hope that this theme positively impacts you as you begin your journey at Creighton. In the next few years you will have amazing opportunities within reach. You will meet new people, learn new things, and see life through new lenses. The experiences you encounter will undoubtedly influence the person you become. The Creighton experience exposes you to so many new things that will continue to inspire you in the future.
Though we may be seniors already, we still remember the anticipation, excitement, and nervousness we felt when beginning our first year of college. Welcome Week helps to calm feelings of anxiety by properly introducing new students to the Creighton's campus and our tight-knit community. You will meet other incoming students and begin life as a Creighton student.
The Welcome Week program helps students transition into the Creighton Community. For those living on campus Welcome Week begins with Move-In. The Welcome Week team will move all of your belongings into your residence hall in our highly organized move-in process. After Move-In you will meet with your assigned Ratio Studiorum group, consisting of 20- 25 new students and led by two experienced Creighton students. These two students will be your Welcome Week Leaders acting as mentors throughout the week and into the first semester. The Welcome Week Leaders will answer questions, lead students around campus, and accompany the group to the numerous events that comprise Welcome Week. The week consists of daily activities, including religious services, community service opportunities, meetings with faculty members, ice cream with the deans, a foam party, an outdoor movie, soccer games, a dance, and many more fun activities!
