Fall 2023

Creighton Students Union (CSU) elects and appoints its new members annually during the Fall semester, as positions are held for the duration of the calendar year (January - December). This year, the CSU Election Day is November 7, 2023. Check your inbox for your ballot, which will be emailed to you automatically.

Positions and Roles

Below are descriptions of all elected and appointed positions within CSU. Whether you are interested specifically in programming, finances, or policy/legislation, or you are just looking for involvement on campus, there is something for everyone!

    Executive Committee

    President: responsible for the day to day operations of CSU including meeting with University administrators, serving on University Committees, writing legislation that advocates for student needs, and serving as the primary voice of the student body.

    This is an elected position - see "Elections" below.

    Executive Vice President: responsible for overseeing the House of Delegates, serving as the liaison between CSU and University Committees, managing two CSU coordinator positions (Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator and Graphic Design & Marketing Coordinator), and coordinating signature programs with Jesuit Academy.

    Vice President for Finance: responsible for managing CSU's budget and allocations of student fees to all undergraduates, graduate and professional schools, sport clubs, and non-student organizations. This position also manages the annual audit of CSU finances and oversees the Appropriations Committee.

    Vice President for Programming: responsible for managing CSU Program Board by providing diverse programming, coordinating large-scale events such as Homecoming and Senior Week, and creating and managing the Program Board budget.

    Assistant Vice President for Programming: responsible for assisting in the management of CSU Program Board by providing diverse programming, coordinating large-scale events such as Spring Jam and Fallapalooza, and managing the Program Board Street Team.

    House of Delegates

    The House of Delegates is a voting body of CSU that is comprised of delegates from all 9 colleges and schools, at-large members, group delegates, and affinity group delegates. Members serve as the legislative body of the Creighton Students Union and represent the wishes and needs of the students through policy and legislative action. In addition, they propose resolutions, acts, and amendments to the CSU governing documents. Position commitment is for January - December (excluding summer), with one meeting per week.

    Appropriations Committee

    The Appropriations Committee is a seven-member committee of the Creighton Students Union responsible for making financial recommendations and decisions, especially pertaining to undergraduate student organizations. Committee members are responsible for voting on all funding allocation decisions to undergraduate organizations, sports clubs, and non-student organizations. Position commitment is for January - December (excluding summer), with one meeting per week.

    Program Board

    The Program Board is responsible for providing the Creighton University community with multicultural, social, recreational, educational, and entertaining programs in alignment with the Creighton University Mission Statement. The CSU Program Board exists to enhance the Creighton experience by providing programs to enhance the intellectual, social, spiritual, physical and recreational aspects of students' lives. The CSU Program Board seeks to improve upon the whole person by assisting student in the development of their leadership skills through practical programming experiences, group training and one-on-one contact. Position commitment is for January - December (excluding summer), with weekly commitments varying.

    Coordinators

    Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator: responsible for advocating for the diverse interests of students, elevating the voices of underrepresented student groups, and providing resources and education to current students on diversity initiatives. Position commitment is from January-December (excluding summer), with 4 office hours per week.

    Graphic Design and Marketing Coordinator: responsible for producing all marketing and publication materials for CSU (excluding Program Board). Also responsible for managing the CSU social media accounts on a regular and consistent basis. Position commitment is from January-December (excluding summer), with 4 office hours per week.

    Elections

    This year, the CSU Election Day is November 2024. The following positions will appear on the CSU ballot and are elected by students:

    • Fraternity and Sorority Life (1 delegate)
