If your course is maintained in the Registrar's database, it will already be registered in Blackboard and your students will be uploaded into your course. You don't have to make these requests anymore. You should also have a login if you are the instructor of record. Your username is your netID and your password is your BLUE domain password.

  1. Build your Blackboard course:
     a) Which content areas and tools will you use? (Control Panel --> Manage Course Menu)
     b) Upload and organize content in appropriate areas (Control Panel --> Content Areas).
  2. Check your Blackboard course roster (Control Panel --> List/Modify Users).
     a) If your roster is empty but you know students have registered, please contact the Blackboard Administrator.
     b) You can enroll additional people, like co-instructors and TAs.
  3. To "protect" your course from student view until it is ready for rollout, it is "unavailable." Make your Blackboard course available (Control Panel --> Settings --> Course Availability).
  4. Backup your Blackboard course (Control Panel --> Export Course (or Archive Course).
  5. Plan to introduce Blackboard to the class:
     a) URL is https://courses.creighton.edu/
     b) Login information: Username is netID; Password is BLUE password.
     c) Expectations of their Blackboard usage.

NOTE:
Periodically backup your Blackboard course throughout the semester (Control Panel --> Export Course or Archive Course).
