Managing Your Course Menu

From the Control Panel:

  • 1. Click on Manage Course Menu in the Course Options section.
  • 2. Click the Modify button next to existing items to edit name.
  • 3. Click on one of the Add icons in the gray bar at the top of the page.
  • 4. When you have finished adding menu items, click OK to leave this page.

Add Content Area - creates areas in which to place course materials

  • a. Click on the Content Area icon.
  • b. Choose a name from the pull-down list, or type one into the Name field.
  • c. Scroll down and click Submit.

Add Tool Area - creates direct links to function areas

  • a. Click on the Tool Link icon.
  • b. Choose a tool type from the pull-down list.
  • c. Scroll down and click Submit.

Add Course Link - creates a button that links directly to a document or tool in the course

  • a. Click on the Course Link icon.
  • b. Type a name into the Name field.
  • c. Click on Browse to locate/choose an item.
  • d. Scroll down and click Submit.

Add External Link - creates a button that links directly to an outside website

  • a. Click on the External Link icon.
  • b. Type a name into the Name field.
  • c. Type (or copy and paste) the URL into the URL field.
  • d. Scroll down and click Submit.
