Our students receive more from Creighton than proficiency in dentistry. As our mission states, they are challenged to “reflect on transcendent values” and “instill caring, ethical and moral components in their professional lives.” Our students learn Jesuit, Catholic values firsthand as they provide care in dental clinics to about 20,000 patients annually. Newly initiated senior student rotations at the OneWorld Dental Clinic in south Omaha increase our service to uninsured and low-income patients. This community health center recently received national recognition last year when President Bush visited the clinic and hailed it as a U.S. model.
We coordinate the aid opportunities for all of Creighton’s four undergraduate and five graduate/professional schools/colleges, so there are very few students we do not touch. We help to administer over $190,000,000 in student aid each year from federal, state, institutional and private sources.
