History and Mission of Creighton University Press

One of the ten charter members of the Association of Jesuit University Presses, Creighton University Press was founded in 1992 and is an integral part of Creighton University.

Through the publication of works of scholarly significance, Creighton University Press fulfills a significant part of the Creighton University Mission "to contribute to the betterment of society, to discover new knowledge.... [and to] stimulate critical and creative thinking so as to provide ethical perspectives for dealing with an increasingly complex world."

To carry out this goal, we publish books and journals addressing Creighton University's traditional intellectual strengths and within the growing strengths of our Press list in contemporary Irish Studies, Jesuit Studies, and Theology.  While Creighton University Press consciously acquires titles in these areas in the desire for continuity, focus, and development of future publications, we welcome the work of both new and established scholars as we seek to publish the best and most innovative work.
