Periodontology Faculty
Takanari Miyamoto, D.D.S ,Ph.D, C.A.G.S., M.S.
Dr. Miyamoto was previously an assistant professor at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr Miyamoto received his dental degree from Creighton University School of Dentistry and Ph.D degree from Nihon University. Dr Miyamoto furthered his knowledge of Periodonctics and Implantology during his time at the Boston University, where he completed three years specialty training in Periodontics. Following the completion of his training, Dr. Miyamoto maintained a practice limited to Periodontics in Massachusetts, where he provided surgical periodontal and oral surgery related therapies.
Dr. Miyamoto focuses his esthetic dental implant practice on implant site development for ideal dental implant placement. Treatment begins with advanced diagnostics, including computer aided CT imaging. Dr. Miyamoto has expertise in correction of hard and soft tissue defects, utilizing a variety of techniques. The development of correct hard and soft tissue profiles provides Dr. Miyamoto the opportunity to achieve functional and esthetic success for his patients. Dr Miyamoto is currently a department chairman of the department of Periodontics, Creighton University School of Dentistry and diplomates of the American Board of Periodontology. He published numerous articles and lectured nationally and internationally both to the dental and medical communities on the topics of Clinical Periodontics and Implantology.

Sharon Daly, R.D.H., B.S.
Ms. Daly is originally from Nenzel, Nebraska. She received her B.S. / R.D.H. degree from Marquette University in 1970. She joined the faculty of the School of Dentistry in 1991 and is currently an Instructor in the Department of Periodontics.

Melissa Lang, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Melissa Lang was born in Independence, Kansas, and attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas for her Bachelor of Science degree. She is a 2004 graduate from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. In 2007, she received a Certificate in Periodontics and a Masters of Science in oral biology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. While at UNMC, she conducted research in periodontal regeneration using simvastatin, a cholesterol-lowering drug that stimulates bone growth. She has published this research in the Journal of Periodontology.
Dr. Lang maintains a private periodontal practice in Omaha, Nebraska. She taught part-time in the pre-doctoral and graduate Periodontics programs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. Dr. Lang is the course director of Sophomore Periodontology at Creighton University School of Dentistry. She also teaches in the Periodontics and Implant clinics at Creighton University School of Dentistry.
Dr. Lang is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, the American Dental Association, the Nebraska Dental Association, the Omaha District Dental Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society, and President-elect of the Nebraska Society of Periodontology.

Raymond Olmo, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr Olmo was born in San Francisco, California and was raised in San Jose, California. He attended the University of California at Berkeley and majored in chemical engineering. Dr. Olmo received his D.D.S. degree from the University of California at San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1965. Following graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha from 1965 to 1967. He earned his M.S. degree and Certificate in Periodontics from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in 1969. Dr. Olmo then entered private practice in Santa Rosa, California for ten years before joining the faculty of the School of Dentistry on a part-time basis in 1979. He also established a private practice in Omaha at that time and continues to maintain it today. Dr. Olmo became a full-time member of the Department of Periodontics in 1999 and is currently an Associate Professor.

Lawrence Parrish, B.S., D.D.S., M.S.
Lawrence Parrish, D.D.S., M.S. is an Associate Professor of Periodontics. He earned his D.D.S. from Loyola University of Chicago, and his M.S. from the Univeristy of Texas at San Antonio. He graduated from the USAF Periodontics Residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in 1985. In 1990, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Following a 24 year career on active duty with the United States Air Force Dental Corps, Dr. Parrish joined the faculty of the School of Dentistry in 2001. His main research interests presently include periodontal prognosis, quantification of gingival crevicular fluid and tooth regeneration issues.

Christine Wagman, R.D.H., B.S.
Ms. Wagman is a 1991 dental hygiene graduate from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. Ms. Wagman joined the faculty of the School of Dentistry in 1992 and is an Instructor in the Department of Periodontics.

Born in Omaha, NE. Attended Creighton University for undergraduate education and majored in chemistry. Graduated from the Creighton University School of Dentistry in 2006, and completed a residency in Periodontology at The Ohio State University. Private practice limited to the specialty of periodontics and placement of dental implants is located on 178th and Pacific Streets in Omaha.
