A- The School of Dentistry welcomes new patients. Initially, you will be added to our pre-assessment list and one of our Patient Care Coordinators will call you back when an appointment becomes available.

Q-How do I make an appointment?

A-Patients needing general and emergency dental care, please call              (402)280-4080 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For children under the age of 15 and Orthodontic care, please call (402)280-2863 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

A-No, our clinic is open Monday through Friday (please refer to clinic hours).

Q-What should I expect at my first visit to the school?

Your first visit at the dental school will be to determine if your dental needs are appropriate for our teaching facility. There will be no dental treatment during this initial assessment. The fee for the initial appointment is approximately $60.00, depending upon the type of x-rays needed.

Q-What are your fees?

A-The School of Dentistry is not a free clinic. The fees charged, however, are lower than those charged in a private dental practice. Payment is expected at the time service is provided. We accept cash, check and credit cards.

Q-Do you accept Insurance and Medicaid?

A-Most insurance plans are accepted, but not all. We accept Iowa and Nebraska Medicaid. Please bring your Insurance or Medicaid card/information with you to your appointment. It is the patient's responsibility to pay deductibles and co-payments at the time service is provided.

Q-Can I bring my own x-rays (radiographs) with me?

A-If you are being referred by another dentist or have (x-rays) radiographs from prior treatment, you may bring these with you to your appointment. Additional radiographs may be necessay before treatment decisions can be made.

Q-How long will my appointments take?

A-Because we are a teaching facility, apointments generally last between 2-4 hours.
