Q-What should I expect at my first visit to the school?
Your first visit at the dental school will be to determine if your dental needs are appropriate for our teaching facility. There will be no dental treatment during this initial assessment. The fee for the initial appointment is approximately $66.00, depending upon the type of x-rays needed. Please see About Our Services for further information.
Q-What are your fees?
A-The School of Dentistry is not a free clinic. The fees charged, however, are lower than those charged in a private dental practice. Payment is expected at the time service is provided. We accept cash, check and credit cards. Please see About Our Services and Billing Information.
Q-Do you accept Insurance and Medicaid?
A-Most insurance plans are accepted, but not all. We accept Iowa and Nebraska Medicaid. Please bring your Insurance or Medicaid card/information with you to your appointment. It is the patient's responsibility to pay deductibles and co-payments at the time service is provided. Please see About Our Services and Billing Information.
Q-Can I bring my own x-rays (radiographs) with me?
A-If you are being referred by another dentist or have had x-rays taken in the last 6 months, please have your dentist email jpeg files to firstname.lastname@example.org. Additional radiographs may be necessary before treatment decisions can be made.
Q-How long will my appointments take?
A-Because we are a teaching facility, appointments generally last between 2-4 hours.
