Initiative: CUAlert Testing on Dec 2
Nov 18, 2009
Creighton University will test its campus emergency notification system, CUAlert, on Dec. 2 at 12:20 p.m. Keeping students, faculty and staff well-informed when there is an emergency or crisis is a University priority. CUAlert uses multiple channels to deliver emergency notifications to the Creighton community such as weather-related University closings. Make sure to maximize the efficiency of the system by providing multiple ways to be reached (ie., e-mail, phone, cell phone, work phone, home phone, text messaging, etc.) The system is only as good as the data it holds. Prior to Dec. 2, simply log on to http://www.creighton.edu/cualert/ and follow the instructions. If you have not registered, do so. If you have registered, check that your information is still accurate. Effective emergency response requires personal preparedness and planning by all of us in the Creighton community. Do your part! Initiative: CUWireless: The new wireless access for campus
Oct 30, 2009
In an effort to provide a secure, stable and robust wireless network for campus, the CUWireless network was created. By logging onto CUWireless, you are able to securely work on the Creighton network. With the vast array of individual computer configurations on campus, we continue to add wireless routers and refine wireless coverage. During the refinement process, an additional wireless offering, CUWiFi may facilitate a simplified way to connect to the Creighton wireless network. If you are unable to log onto the Creighton wireless network, please contact the Service Desk at 280-1111. Learn about this Initiative
Initiative: ALERT - Phishing Scams!
Oct 29, 2009
Phishing Scams: Never share your password with anyone! Do not reply to any e-mail asking to verify your personal data. Creighton will NEVER ask you to provide personal information (i.e. SSN, IDs, passwords, Credit Card information, PIN numbers, etc) via e-mail. Contact DoIT right away at 402-280-1111 or servicedesk@creighton.edu to ask for clarification of such e-mails or if you have questions or concerns.
Initiative: Student Email Update
Oct 19, 2009
In our efforts to provide the most flexibility and functionality for student email, continued research and testing is currently underway for the student email solution that best fits the needs of Creighton students. As ongoing work continues, CUmail will remain the primary email resource for the entire Creighton Community at this time. We are working diligently to develop clear and concise plans and timelines to present an email solution to new students and migrate current students and alums. As plans continue to solidify, additional updates will be shared with the Creighton Community. For details on the student email solution, visit this link: Learn about this Initiative
