Browser Updates
On Monday, May 18th there will be an upgrade of BlueLine and on Friday, June 19 there will be an upgrade of Banner. After the upgrades, the Microsoft browser, Internet Explorer v.7 (IE7) will be fully supported on these applications.
DoIT recommends that all users who access these applications using Internet Explorer v.6 (IE6), upgrade to IE7 for the following reasons:
- IE7 has increased functionality and speed
- While IE6 will continue to function, it will no longer be supported after these dates.
- IE6 is now two versions old
If you are a user of both BlueLine and Banner and access these applications with IE, DoIT recommends that between May 18 – June 20, you use Firefox.
Macintosh users should continue using Firefox. Safari is not supported.
To download IE7 or FireFox, please click your Start button>All Programs>LANDesk Management and select LANDesk Software Deployment Portal. Select the IE7 or Firefox buttons and the installation will begin. Once completed, your computer should be restarted.
