So you have a brand new page, and you want to put brand new content on it. How to do this?
The various types of content is covered in "Types of Content Available"
To add content onto a new page when you are in Page View you will click any of 7 icons/buttons.
If you already have content on a page, you can click the "New record after this one" icon that is in the gray bar above the sample text/header/name of the existing content elements.

Simply put, you can't get there from here. Adding content has to be added on Page module or List module. While in the View module you can use the contextual menu of the pagetree to add new content.
If you page is blank and you are in the list module, then there is only one icon/button to click to add content.
If you already have existing content, then you will have several different places where you can add new content.
If you find when you click on "New Regualar Text Element" in the pagecontent wizard, that it appears does nothing, check to see if you are also being prompted for the column you wish to place it in. This wizard will appear if you have clicked the "Create new content element" on Page or "Create New Record" on List, both of these are at the top of the work area in the darker gray.

NOTE: Plugins may no longer be available. There currently are no plugins that a user can implement without assistance from the webteam.
You can do this from any module where you can see the pagetree. Page, List or View.
Click the icon of the page on which you wish to add content. Pull down to New.
You will then get the "New Record" work area where you can choose to go straight to the editor or use the "wizard" in adding new content.
If you choose "Pagecontent" you will go straight to the Pagecontent tabs. You will have to choose what column you want the content in on the "General" Tab (it will default to "Normal" column).
If you choose "Click here for wizard" it will step you though how to do this.
