Files = anything that is uploaded to the typo3 server and resides in a folder under the Filelist.  This can include but is not limited to:

• Images
• Documents - PDF, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets
• Presentations - Flash, Powerpoint
• Movies

Users are limited to the document size they can upload (xx MB).  Although the Typo3 server can hold a lot, it's prudent to not try to fill it.  

A word about Microsoft files.

Movies - we suggest that movies be stored either on winstream.creighton.edu (windows media files) or on YouTube (any type of video).  We can assist you in uploading to winstream and embedding uploaded movies in your pages.   We have instructions on how to embed YouTube videos in Content/Adding a movie.

Once you have uploaded most files onto the server, they are not available to edit from the server.  You can edit the copy that you created and uploaded, then re-upload and replace the copy in your folder but there is no way you can open and edit a PDF, Microsoft document or other documents like this.

The only files you can edit on the server are the ones that can be created on the server:

• Text (.txt)
• HTML (.html or htm)
• Cascading Style Sheet (.css)
• Template file (.tmpl (we do not use))
• Javscript (.js)
• SQL (.sql)
• XML (.xml)
• Comma delimited file (.csv)
• PHP files (.php, .php3, .php4, .php5, .php6, .phpsh)
• Include files (.inc)
