Gateway Sony Battery Recall
Sony batteries have been in the news with recalls for several notebook computer vendors. While Gateway has not identified any failures of this type in Gateway systems using these batteries, Gateway is cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Saftey Commission and Sony to act in the interest of customer safety by initiating a voluntary recall of all affected batteries, approximately 35,000. Gateway is a provider for Creighton computer equipment.
The Gateway notebook computer with affected batteries began shipping in September 2005. The affected batteries were offered as the primary or spare battery with the following Gateway notebook PC models: M250, M255, M280, M285, M465, and M685.
