DoIT offers free or discounted software to the Creighton community. Different packages are available for students versus faculty and staff, but some are freely available for everyone. Follow along below for more information. For installation, computers must meet the minimum system requirements.
Microsoft Windows XP (Faculty/Staff only)
Through a Campus License Agreement, Creighton offers Windows operating system software to all employees (faculty and staff) for installation on Creighton owned computers.

Microsoft Office
Through our Campus Agreement with Microsoft, we are able to offer Microsoft Office Professional for all Creighton owned machines. Please check our Office page to see how to qualify.

Office for Work at Home/Student Media
Creighton University employees and students may purchase certain software at extremely discounted pricing. Employees and students can purchase software through the link below and have the software shipped directly to their home. Please remember that this software is for personally owned computers and is NOT for university owned computers.

Our Virtual Private Network (VPN) allows you to connect to our network remotely. We only recommend doing this on high speed connections. It is not recommended for dialup connections.
Other Utilities (Putty, WinSCP, WS_FTP)
Putty - In order to create your web space on People, you will need a secure shell program such as Putty. Instructions for using Putty can be found here.
WinSCP - You can upload your files to your People web space using WinSCP.
WS_FTP - WS_FTP, no longer in production, is an FTP file transfer program useful only for non-secure transfers. WS_FTP 6.
