Voicemail Instructions: West Campus
These are the instructions for using voicemail on the west part of campus, including CUMC, Boyne, BIC, and Cardiac Center.
Logging In to Voicemail
- Pick up the phone and dial 5900
- The system will say "Welcome to Audix, please enter your mailbox number followed by the # sign"
- Enter the last 4 digits of your phone number, followed by the # sign
- Then the system will ask for your six-digit password
- If you are logging in for the first time the password will be
28 and the last four digits of your office phone number
Thus, if your office number is 280-1234, your default password would be 281234
Please note: Three consecutive unsuccessful attempts to log into your voice mailbox will disable access.
Playing your Messages
- To hear details about the message, press 2
- To listen to the message, press 0
- To delete the message, press *3
- To un delete the message you just deleted, press *8 (again)
- To save the message, press #
- To go back to last message, press 4
Please Note: Once you hang up the phone and disconnect from voice mail any deleted messages can not be retrieved.
Forward a Message to Another Voicemail Box
- To begin, log into your voicemail
- Listen to the message you wish to forward
- Dial 1, then 2 to compose a note
- Compose a message, press "#" when finished
- The system will ask you to enter a list of mail box(es) to which you wish to forward the message
- Input the voice mail box number you would like the message to go to followed by the "#" key. You may list more than one mail box
- When you have listed the mail box(es), press "#" to indicate that you are done
- Dial "#" to send the message and then delete or save the message in your own mail box
Recording a Personal Greeting
- To begin, log into voicemail
- After you have logged in, the system will tell you if you have messages or not, and begin reciting the menu options to you
- Press 3
- Press 1 for external greeting
For ease of maintenance, we encourage you to use only an external greeting
- Press 1 to record your greeting. Please use an appropriate, pleasant greeting, such as "You have reached ____________ ; I/We are either on the phone or away from the phone right now. Please leave a message at the sound of the tone and I/we will get back to you as soon as possible."
- After you have finished recording, press the # sign. This will provide the beep tone at the end of your message
- Press 23 to rewind and listen to your greeting
- Press the # sign to approve
- Your greeting should be recorded. You can follow the system instructions to listen to the greeting to make sure that you are satisfied
Recording Personal Verification
- To begin, log into voicemail
- Press 5
- Press 5
- Press 1 to record your name
- Press 1 when finished, followed by the # sign
Changing Your Password
- To begin, log into voicemail
- After you have logged in, press 5
- Press 4
- Enter your new password (5 to 15 digits) followed by the # sign
- The system will ask you to re-enter your new password
- Enter your new password again, followed by the # sign
Compose One Message for Several Individuals
- To begin, log into your voicemail
- Press 1
- Begin voicing your message, press the "#" key when finished recording
- The system will ask you to enter a list of mail box numbers
- Input each voice mail box number you would like to send a message to followed by the "#"
- When you have listed the mail box(es), press "#" to indicate that you are done
- Press "#" to send the message
How to do a Distribution List
- To begin, log into your voicemail
- Dial 5
- Press 1
- Press 1, again
- Enter a number from 1 to 9 to identify the list
- Press 1
- Enter the mail box numbers you want on your list, followed by the "#" key
- When the list is complete, press "#" key.
To use the Personal Distribution List
After you have logged into the system: At the time when you would normally enter a sequence of mail box numbers under the composing a message directions, enter the distribution list number, followed by the "#" key.
