Critical Care Paramedic
This course is designed to prepare paramedics to provide advanced critical care during inter-facility transports, including performing advanced clinical patient assessments and providing invasive care beyond the standard scope of advanced prehospital care. Includes modes of transport, flight physiology, barophysiology and transfer considerations, including safety, patient packaging and practice in a closely confined space, airway and ventilation management including surgical airways and ventilators, CPAP and BiPAP, thoracostomy, and chest drainage maintenance, central venous lines, expanded pharmacologic formulary, interpretation of laboratory data, 12-lead ECG interpretation, monitoring and maintaining and IABP, and hemodynamic monitoring. Instruction is provided in both didactic and clinical settings.
Successful completion of this course will result in a certificate of completion, 96 hours of continuing education and preparation for the Certified Critical Care Paramedic (CCP-C®) and Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C®) Exams adminstered by the Board for Critical Care Transport Paramedic Certification (BCCTPC®).

Application Information
In addition to the application and $50 non-refundable application fee, you are also required to supply the following documents:
- three letters of recommendation (link to form is below)
- copy of paramedic course transcripts
- copy of paramedic certification/licensure (include copies from all jurisdictions)
- copy of ACLS and BLS certificates and PHTLS or ITLS, ALMS, PALS or PEPP as applicable
- copy of driver's license
- resume
- 300-word essay answering "Why I want to take this course"
Students are also expected to meet the immunization requirements of Health Science students at Creighton University, http://www.creighton.edu/chc/healthservices/immunizationrequirements/index.php Immunization compliance is monitored by Creighton University Health Services. If accepted to the course, instructions on submitting immunization information will be sent to you with your acceptance letter.
Cost
Course cost for the onsite course as a Certificate Student beginning in 2012 is $900.
Current course cost for the online course as a Certificate Student is $900.
