In 2013, the Ignatian College Connection (ICC) program began at Creighton. The ICC is for students in 11th and 12th grades that reside in the greater Omaha metropolitan area. To increase access to higher education, we provide educational services such as:

  • academic counseling and support
  • tutoring

  • career guidance and exploration,
  • resume development
  • college preparation workshops
  • summer programs
  • mentoring
  • financial literacy
  • financial aid and scholarship assistance

The Ignatian College Connection Program consists of four components:

1. Saturday Seminars
ICC participants are required to attend two monthly Saturday seminars during the academic year. You will take part in activities that will help you prepare for college. We will cover topics such as:

  • goal setting
  • career exploration
  • study skills
  • ACT preparation
  • college curriculum planning
  • essay writing
  • resume writing
  • scholarship searches and completion
  • financial literacy
  • financial aid
  • the college application process.

Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about Creighton’s undergraduate and professional school opportunities through a series of on-campus programs.  You’ll also experience college life and engage in a variety of cultural activities through the Creighton Office of Multicultural Affairs.

2. Summer Academy
As part of the Summer Academy, ICC participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the academic, social and spiritual aspects of Creighton University.  You’ll take part in a variety of workshops on the Creighton campus designed to help you

  • explore areas of career interest
  • develop your academic skills and abilities
  • expose you to Creighton’s programs of study.

3. Community Service
In keeping with Creighton University's Catholic and Jesuits values, ICC participants are required to complete 10 hours of community service of their choice, per semester, for a total of 20 hours per year.

Additionally, in the fall and spring you’ll be asked to participate in an ICC sponsored service project. ICC will provide transportation.

4. Mentoring
As an ICC participant, you will be paired with a Creighton University student who will help you achieve your personal, academic and future career goals.
