The TRiO SSS program is federally funded to serve 160 students annually. Our priority deadline is May 10th.
Students who are enrolled or accepted for enrollment at Creighton University as an undergraduate student.
Students who are First-generation college students (neither parent has a 4-year college degree).
Students who are low-income college students as outlined by the Department of Education criteria.
Students with a documented disability.
Students who have a need for academic support.
Citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
In exchange for the services provided by SSS, students are expected to complete semester requirements. The requirements for each semester are as follows:
Attendance at orientation and completion of paperwork
Completion of the needs assessment forms
Attendance at two workshops (cultural events qualify as workshops)
Meeting with academic counselor, Karen Thurber
Meeting with staff member to discuss mid-term grades
Other expectations per individual need
