ACADEMIC YEAR

TUTORIAL

During the school year the Upward Bound Math and Science offers tutorial session to their students.  Students are required to attend a minimum of two hours of individual tutoring each week.  Students with a G.P.A. of 3.5+ may be exempt from tutoring.

ADVISEMENT

Upward Bound Math and Science provides acaemic advising. The Academic Advisor assist students with academic and career counseling, ACT/SAT tests preparation and college selection.

SATURDAY MORNING CLASS

Saturday Morning Classes are held every first and third Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. through 12 noon.  These classes are hands on activities and field trips for further enhancement in math and science.  

COLLEGE  TOURS

Upward Bound Math and Science students will attend college tours locally and out of state to help in the search of a college.  Previous colleges visited include:  Iowa State University, University of Central Florida, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Chicago, Dana College, University of Kansas, and University of Nebraska at Omaha.

CULTURAL EXPOSURE

Students attend cultural events in the community once a month.  Examples:  Plays at the Omaha Community Playhouse, The Nutcracker Ballet, Science Day at UNL, Urban League Parade, and Haunted Houses.
