2025 Midwest Undergraduate Philosophy Conference

Call for Papers

Submission Guidelines

1. Submissions in all areas of philosophy are welcome. All submissions must be original work and solely authored by current undergraduate students.
2. Paper submitted to the conference should not exceed 3,000 (or about 12 double-spaced pages) and must be suitable for presenting in under 25 minutes.
3. Submissions must be anonymized for blind review. They should not include the author’s name, affiliation, or other personally identifying information.

The deadline for submissions is January 13, 2025

Your submissions should adhere to the above guidelines. Submit your anonymized paper electronically in PDF format along with a separate abstract of 150-250 words.

Selection Process

All submitted papers will undergo a blind peer review by a panel of student reviewers. Selected authors will be notified via email by February 21, 2025.

Conference Details

The 2025 Midwest Undergraduate Philosophy Conference will be held April 5, 2025, on the campus of Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. The conference will host a reception and dinner on the evening of Friday, April 4. The main conference program will follow on Saturday, April 5. Interested students who are unable to attend the Friday night dinner may still submit papers for consideration in the main program. Papers selected for presentation will be allotted 20-25-minute presentation times, which will be followed by formal comments and Q&A.

The conference is presented by the Creighton University Department of Philosophy and Phi Sigma Tau Honor Society.
