Policy 14 - Grant Funded Positions

Direct Funding
Salary lines or positions directly funded by a grant will be terminated after the grant ends, provided that the terminations are in accordance with applicable employee contracts and, to the extent relevant, the Faculty Handbook (See procedure BDPR 5.)
Where a salary line is partially funded by a grant, the grant funded portion of the salary will be terminated when the grant ends, provided that the terminations are in accordance with applicable employee contracts and, to the extent relevant, the Faculty Handbook.
Exceptions to this policy must be approved by the Budget Committee (the policy applies to GCF and UDF funds).
Indirect Funding
Permanent salary lines or positions in GCF or UDF funds may not be funded through the "Recovery of Indirect Costs." This revenue source is received from a constantly changing combination of grants and is not considered an appropriate source of funding for a permanent position.
