Loan Information

Here is some important information you should know about the criteria Creighton uses to select the primary lending partners you will see listed on the various loan pages:

Creighton University recommends the lender partners based on several factors. Foremost, is the long experience in the student loan business each demonstrates, which in turn insures the capability to properly administer these loan options with integrity, compliance and outstanding customer service throughout the life of the loan. These lenders were originally selected as they were and still are the majority choice by Creighton students. Additionally, some lenders may offer benefits to the student such as payment on behalf of the student of required federal fees, non-capitalization of accrued interest on unsubsidized Stafford and Grad-PLUS loans and repayment incentives resulting in reduced interest rates. We continually monitor the benefits yearly to insure our lender partners provide nationally competitive benefits and a continued commitment to exceptional service to students.

Creighton University will process a loan application with any lender a student chooses. Students wishing to borrow loan funds through a lender not listed will need to e-mail the Financial Aid Office loan department with  the lender name, address, phone number and 6 digit lender code.

Low-interest loans for educational expenses are available to students and families.  Loans are a type of financial aid that must be repaid. Go here for information about repaying your student loans.

There are 3 types of loan programs offered at Creighton:Institutionally Administered Loans, Federal Family Education Loans and Alternative Private Loans.
