Title IX
Title IX (1972)- "No person in the U.S. shall, on the basis of sex be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal aid." (Section 1681. Sex)
Title IX is commonly thought of as pertaining only to athletics. However, the law is actually much broader. Title IX prohibits gender discrimination in all programs and activities of a university.
