Domestic Travel: Individual Faculty and Staff

FALL 2020

University-sponsored domestic and travel has been cancelled until further notice.

All University-sponsored domestic and international travel has been suspended until further notice due to the pandemic and University cost-saving measures announced in May by Creighton University President the Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ, PhD. EXCEPTIONS will be made for areas of essential programming and outreach, such as Athletics, University Relations and Enrollment Management.

Planning Domestic Travel for Faculty & Staff

Please follow these steps to make sure you have covered all University requirements.

EVERY individual University-sponsored domestic trip must be registered separately.

1. Review Creighton University's Travel Policy

All travel sponsored, organized, facilitated or encouraged by Creighton University must be under the oversight of an administrative unit of the University.

2. Obtain Exception Approval from your College / School / Division

Each College/School or Division may request an exception to the University-sponsored travel ban. Please contact your Dean's or Divisional Administrator's Office for information on how to obtain an exception.

Note that travel is not approved until registered with GEO and you have received final approval.

3. Verify Distance

Only travel beyond 75 miles from the Omaha or Phoenix Metropolitan Area(s) must be registered (entry to Mexico must be registered as international travel)

4. Register your Domestic Trip

Register your domestic trip by filling out the form linked below. Travel is not approved until you received verification from the Global Engagement Office.

Contact RenePadilla@creighton.edu if you do not receive a response within 48 hours (Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Central Time)

5. Voluntary Air Travel Mitigation Fund

Creighton University members recognize the challenges of climate change and make efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG), especially those from business related travel.
