Endowed Chair Vacancies Filled

Thanks to the generosity of loyal Creighton donors, two dedicated and long-time faculty have been named to fill endowed chair vacancies at the University. Endowed faculty chairs and professorships are critical to retaining Creighton’s leading faculty and attracting new scholars.

Beverly Kracher, Ph.D., professor of business ethics and society and executive director and president of the Greater Omaha Alliance for Business Ethics, was named The Robert B. Daugherty Endowed Chair in Business Ethics and Society. Terry Wilwerding, D.D.S., professor of prosthodontics, was named The Dr. Oscar S. Belzer Endowed Chair in Dentistry.

A passionate educator and service provider and a member of the Creighton faculty since 1988, Kracher is an international expert and speaker on business ethics, has received numerous teaching awards and is involved in many economic development activities.

The Robert B. Daugherty Endowed Chair in Business Ethics & Society was established in 1981 to further scholarship in the field of business ethics and serve as a resource for business leaders in the community.

Wilwerding has been a Creighton faculty member since 1980 and served as chairman of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics from 1992 to 2000. He is the director of the dental history course and the preclinical Fixed Prosthodontics curriculum. Wilwerding supervises dental students who staff the OneWorld evening clinic, is co-director of the Institute for Latin American Concern (ILAC) dental program and oversees the bachelor’s degree program in dental hygiene.

The Dr. Oscar S. Belzer Endowed Chair in Dentistry was established by Jerome Belzer, M.D., in honor of his father, a 1928 graduate of the School of Dentistry. The chair recognizes and honors outstanding faculty members.
