What if my supporting materials are received before my application?
We will keep all miscellaneous items on file for two years. When your application is received, we will match it with any items we might have received earlier.

How will I be notified regarding the status of my application and the admission process?
You will receive e-mail notification when we receive your application and then again once all items have been received and your file is complete. Regarding final decisions, we try to e-mail a scanned copy of the letter and then send the letter via regular mail.

Can I check on the status of my application?
Certainly - just call us at 402-280-2424 or e-mail gradsch@creighton.edu. Coming soon will be the ability to check the application status via the online system.

What if I don't complete my file? How long will materials be kept?
If for some reason you don't complete your file by submitting all materials, we will keep it active for up to a year. But we do request that you complete your file in a timely manner or if your plans change, let us know and we will withdraw your application.

How should transcripts be received by the Graduate School?
To be considered official, transcripts must be received in a sealed envelope from the college or university.

How do I request transcripts?
Please see the degree-granting institution's policy. Most have an online request system.

What tests are required for admission?
It depends on the program! We do require official GRE and TOEFL scores (for those programs that require them), which means the scores must come directly from ETS.

If scores are received prior to your application being submitted, we will keep scores on file for two years.

To make arrangements to take the GRE, you will need to call the testing center in your area to make an appointment. To obtain a copy of your score report for Creighton, please contact GRE-ETS at 609-771-7670 or at the time of testing, put in our school code, which is 6121. There is a charge for this service.

GRE requirements vary by program. Please contact the program director in your area of interest.

If English is not my native language, must I take a proficiency exam?
Yes, unless you have earned a higher degree (bachelor's or higher) from a regionally accredited institution in the United States. The Graduate School requires a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based exam and 80 on the Internet-based exam for admission.
