Later this month, GSG will be making the little kid in everyone happy as we host a social gathering at Dave & Buster's in West Omaha. The event will be held on Wednesday April 24th from 5pm-8pm at the Dave & Buster's on 133rd and Center. Upon arrival attendees will receive a $15 power card that can be used for games around the arena. Additionally, Wednesday is "half priced game day", so everybody will be able to enjoy double the entertainment. Grilled chicken will be served in a buffet style, and while happy hour is available to those willing to pay, unlimited soda will be complimentary. Unfortunately, only 50 spots are available to attend so please RSVP by emailing Ryan Pilkington (ryanpilkington@creighton.edu) in order to make sure you are part of this special event.

Nothing beats fresh produce--other than growing it with friends! The GSG has received three plots in the Ignatian Gardens. GSG is sponsoring the plots and purchasing the plants in an effort to promote networking and healthy living. Students involved will select what plants to grow and help in maintaining and harvesting the garden. Our garden planning meeting is Friday, April 19th at noon in Criss II Room 310. If you would like to participate or have questions, please email Isha Dewan at IshaDewan@creighton.edu.
The April GSG all-member meeting will be Sunday, April 25th, at 5:00 p.m. in the Harper 3027. Come and join us!
Do you know how to protect yourself? With graduate students working long hours and/or odd hours, a basic knowledge of self defense is valuable. Therefore, the GSG Student Life Committee hosted an Introduction to Self Defense Course facilitated by Public Safety and Mary Joe, Lynn Snoza, and Bryan Hilson with the American School of Karate and Judo. We would like to greatly thank our trainers for their time and expertise. A questionnaire is being sent out to participants, and we are exploring the option of offering a monthly training. This would allow students to practice techniques and learn more advanced ones. If you are interested in a monthly Self Defense practice, please contact MarshaPierce@creighton.edu.
The GSG Social Committee is looking for interested individuals to help plan GSG social events. If you are interested please contact Social Committee Chair, Ryan Pilkington at RyanPilkington@creighton.edu.
