Scholarship opportunity for faculty and staff of Creighton University:  Ignatian Interdisciplinary Ed.D. Leadership Scholarship

Description

The Ignatian Interdisciplinary Ed.D. Leadership Scholarship is a competitive scholarship that is designed to support candidates in the Interdisciplinary Ed.D. Program in Leadership who are current employees at Creighton University.  One scholarship will be available each year.

Terms

The Scholarship:

  • Funds 100% tuition
  • Is renewable based on satisfactory progress in the program (3.0 GPA and no incompletes)
  • Will be forfeited should the recipient take a job outside of Creighton University while enrolled, with the obligation to pay the tuition for the credits earned
  • Will be re-evaluated on a yearly basis
  • The recipient will pay for the tuition should s/he leave Creighton University two years after obtaining the degree
  • The recipient will pay University and Technology fees
  • The recipient will pay IRS taxes after $5250 of tuition remission
  • The recipient will be enrolled full-time in the Ed.D. program (the student can defer one term for reasons that are mutually agreed upon)

Eligibility

Eligible applicants must be admitted to the Ed.D. program, and be employed in a benefits-eligible position at Creighton University

Criteria for Competitive Awards

  • Commitment and achievements related to leadership at Creighton University and beyond
  • Evidence of intellectual rigor and commitment to Creighton's mission
  • Quality of application (writing samples, personal statement, recommendations)
  • Years of employment at Creighton
  • Performance in Master's degree
  • Job performance and potential

Selection Process

  1. Creighton will advertise this scholarship.  Interested employees will complete an application form in addition to the Ed.D. application.  The application is available here.
  2. Application deadline will be June 15 of each year.  Decisions will be made prior to the August start-date. 
  3. An Ed.D. Core Committee subcommittee will review the applications and verify the veracity of the documentation supplied by the applicant.  The committee will recommend to the Ed.D. Program Director the name(s) of candidates that best meet the criteria.  The Program Director will consult with the Academic Vice President and present candidates to the President, who will make the final decision.

 

Presidential Scholarship for Catholic Educational Leadership

Description

The Presidential Scholarship is a competitive scholarship that is designed to support doctoral candidates who are current or aspiring leaders in K-12 Catholic school education. One scholarship will be available for each cohort that enters in January and August.

Terms

The scholarship:

-          Funds 50% tuition.

-          Is Renewable.

-          Will be forfeited should the recipient take a job outside K-12 Catholic school education.  

Eligibility

Applicants must be currently working full-time in K-12 Catholic school education.

Criteria for Competitive Awards

-          Commitment to Catholic Educational Leadership.

-          Promise in Catholic Educational Leadership.
