Students will be expected to demonstrate continuous progress in their abilities to understand, use, design, conduct, interpret and report research that is linked to the world of practice. Students will have multiple experiences in designing, conducting, and reporting research in addition to their dissertation. Students will be required to complete 15 credit hours in Research and Dissertation.
Based on the studentís personal and professional goals, competencies in an array of research methods and tools will be available to students. Research competencies must be met prior to engaging in the development of the studentís dissertation. Students will be required to complete six (6) credit hours of Quantitative Research Design and Methods, Qualitative Research Design and Methods, or Mixed Research Designs.
All students will be required to complete a Research Proposal Development class (2 credit hours) prior to conducting their dissertation. The purpose of the course is to provide guidance and direction in the identification and shaping of a research proposal that follows appropriate research guidelines and principles. At the conclusion of the course, students will have a proposal to share with their advisor and Dissertation Supervisory Committee.
