The Master of Arts in Ministry program prepares students for professional ministry in the Church in the Roman Catholic tradition.  At the end of the degree program the lay ecclesial minister will have a broad education in theology and the personal and professional competencies requisite for ministry.

The program is a hybrid program including online theology courses year around with on-campus residency weeks each summer.

Types of Degrees: MA

Duration: 2-1/2 to 3 years full time

Online: The online program started in Summer 2009.

Number of Credits Required: 46

Cost: 50% tuition remission - $365 per credit hour, 2012/2013 rate (limited scholarship available), plus fees.

Stipend/Fellowship: No.

Program Start: June orientation each year with summer start date

Application

Preferred Application Deadline: Domestic: May 1. International students should apply at least three months in advance of anticipated start date in order to get all paperwork processed.

Admissions Requirements:
Applicants need three courses (9 credit hours) in undergraduate Theology from an accredited program (equivalency for Diaconate formation or ministry formation will be considered).  Admission to the program requires a bachelor’s degree (or its equivalent) with at least a 3.0 grade point average. An application should include:

1. Completed application and application fee2. Four letters of recommendation: Two spiritual as well as two professional recommendations3. Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended4. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) - may be waived in some instances6. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): All international applicants from countries in which English is not the primary language must demonstrate proficiency in English language by submitting a minimum TOEFL score of 80 iBT (213 CBT/550 PBT).  International applicants who receive their baccalaureate or higher degree from an accredited institution in the US, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Africa (English-speaking only) are NOT required to submit a TOEFL score report.
