History
The calendar read October 2009. Leaves were falling, the air grew brisk, and the moon hung low in the sky. "Boots" O'Flaherty, Private Eye, was on the job. On that dark autumn night, in the shadows of the Lied Center for the Arts, ten men assembled for the first meeting of the group that would later become The Creightones. E-mail addresses were exchanged and, probably, something resembling music was sung at some point.
The Creightones have performed for such dignitaries as President Millard Fillmore, the Dalai Lama, Elvis Costello, and held a private concert for Pope St. Pius X. They have sold out the Sydney Opera House in a concert that was simulcast to astronauts aboard the International Space Station, and have received critical acclaim for their adaptation of Handel's Messiah.
Just kidding. In our short history we have been proud to sing at events on campus and in greater Omaha. One highlight was our performance at Skutt Catholic High School in April 2010, where we raised money to benefit the Japanese Red Cross in the wake of the tragic earthquakes in Japan.
The Creightones are excited to add more to this short history as they enter their fourth year.
