Meetings

Meetings are every Tuesday night and the group meets to work on different for both internal and external programming events. Overall, GSA remains an important place for members of the Creighton community to come together to share time and joy in a safe environment.

Every second week of the month is an internal educational section called "Rainbow Roundtable." RR was created to educate our members on current issues facing the members of the GLBTQIA community either on campus, in our local Omaha community, or on a larger nation-wide scale.  This program is generally led by the Vice President for Student Involvement.  Past RR topics have included the history of drag, understanding various transgendered terms, understanding the politics of propostion 8, and other activities like understanding the Kinsey scale.

Every fourth week of the month we have a supportive section called "Sharing Our Stories."  SOS was created to allow our members time to share with one another the stories of our struggles and triumphs.  Although most SOS's are the typical "coming out" story, not all are.  Straight allies and those who are not "out" have also told their stories of the struggles they face as GLBTQIA.

Our Mission

The Alliance is a student organization that has been organized to address the topic of sexual orientation at Creighton. The group intends to address sexual identity within the Catholic, Jesuit tradition and to promote the Ignatian vision which affirms the goodness, worth, and dignity of every person.
