9th Annual Addressing Health Disparities Seminar

Social Determinants of Violence: Public Health Solutions

The seminar is designed to bring community and academia together to eliminate health disparities in the Omaha Community and Nebraska.
The purpose of the seminar is to discuss violence, its social factors/elements, and its deterrence through true community-based participatory programs.
At the of the seminar the participant should be able to:

  • Describe how to develop and sustain reasonable public health solutions to deter societal violence.
  • Recognize effect of violence on the individual, family, and community.
  • Discuss strategies for addressing social determinants of societal violence.
  • Recognize and promote the dissemination to others of community resources for violence resolution.
