Electronic Journals
Copyright Notice
Full text material in electronic journals may be protected by Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S. Code).
For help with copyright questions please contact Judi Bergjord, Outreach Librarian, at bergjord@creighton.edu or 280-5199.
Electronic journals from all three Creighton University libraries (Health Sciences Library, Reinert Alumni Library, and Klutznick Law Library) are listed in the CU Libraries Ejournal Portal, a serials management system from Serials Solutions. Many journals include links to more than one provider.
Password information for login-dependent journals (noted as "Password Required" next to the title in the Ejournal Portal). This page is accessible only to Creighton students, staff and faculty, on campus, or off campus via proxy server; the general public will not be able to view it.
Some journals listed in the Portal are embargoed, which means that the most recent issues are not accessible; typical embargoes are for 6 to 12 months, but may be longer or shorter. For example, a link to a title may indicate access from 1997 to 6 months ago. This may be because our access is through a package of titles such as Academic Search Premier and the terms of the package require the delay, or because access is public after the embargo period and we do not have a subscription to the current issues.
If you have problems with online access, or for help and information about subscriptions and access to journals in any format, please contact Bryan Stack, Serials and Electronic Collections Librarian, at cuhsl-serials@creighton.edu or 280-5137.
If you need help searching for content in journals, please contact the Reference Services department at refdesk@creighton.edu or 280-5138. There is detailed guidance by subject under Resources.

- Most journals provide scanned images of articles in the portable document file (PDF) format. Sometimes articles produced with a newer version of Adobe Acrobat™ are not readable with older versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader™, so it is important to have the current version. To download a free copy of the software to view, print and save PDF files, click here.
- The Mulford Health Science Library at the University of Toledo provides links to Instructions to Authors in the Health Sciences for over 3,500 journals in the health and life sciences. All links are to "primary sources" - that is, to publishers and organizations with editorial responsibilities for the titles.
