Acland's Video Atlas of Human Anatomy by Dr. Robert Acland, University of Louisville. All dissections are real, fresh, unembalmed human specimens. The true color and texture of each structure is shown, just as it appears in the living body. Joints and muscles are shown actually moving as they do in life. A concise, synchronized narration runs throughout the video. As one sees each new structure, its name is displayed on the screen. Through the Table of Contents or by searching a comprehensive Index, one can access all six volumes of the Video Atlas including Upper Limb; Lower Limb; Trunk; Head and Neck; and Internal Organs. Beyond Blame. (10 min.) Bridge Medical, c1997. Tells the stories of a pharmacist, a nurse, and a physician who have each been involved in a fatal medication administration error. This program provides a concise method of distinguishing normal and abnormal radiographic patterns. Confidentiality, 3-Part Series. Medcom, c2008. Confidentiality is the foundation for trust in the patient caregiver relationship. Efforts to maintain and protect confidential information once focused solely on paper medical records. But as communication technology has made it possible to easily store and transmit enormous amounts of medical information through computerized databases, fax machines, and the Internet, there is an increased danger that confidential information may be revealed to inappropriate individuals.The three-part series, "Confidentiality" describes some of the practical changes that have come about in recent years to help maintain confidentiality in healthcare. * Dax's Case. (58 min.) Filmakers Library, 1984. Discusses the case of Donald (Dax) Cowart and his desire to die following severe burns over 65% of his body and the loss of his vision and hands. This program investigates the Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male, a medical experiment conducted in Alabama from 1932-1972 in which Afro-American men believed they were receiving free treatment for syphilis, but were given worthless medicines by government physicians. Restricted to on-campus and VPN access only. Endoluminal Gastroplication for Endoscopic Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). The Bard EndoCinch device is demonstrated by Dr. Charles Filipi at Creighton University Medical Center with Dr. Isaac Raijman of Texas Medical Center in an archived webcast which took place March 3, 2003. The procedure works by creating pleats at the lower esophageal sphincter (LES).
