- RefWorks is a web-based personal biblilographic database manager. Use it to create your own bibliographic database, format bibliographies, and share references with colleagues or classmates.

Write-N-Cite for RefWorks
- Write-N-Cite is a small helper program for Microsoft Word. Once installed you will be able to cite references with the click of a button.
- How do I access Write-N-Cite?

- The Write-N-Cite 4 for Mac is now available. It is compatible with OS X 10.5, 10.6, & 10.7 (Leopard, Snow Leopard, & Lion). To download the Write-N-Cite 4 for Mac:
- login to your RefWorks account
- mouse over the Tools tab & click on Write-N-Cite
- access Write-N-Cite for Mac from the resulting screen
- install information for the Write-N-Cite 4 for Mac
- Write-N-Cite 4 for Windows is now available. At this time, the Health Sciences Library recommends Write-N-Cite 4 for Windows due to the university's adoption of Kaspersky antivirus software. Write-N-Cite III for Windows is not compatible with the Kaspersky antivirus software. To download Write-N-Cite 4 for Windows:
- login to your RefWorks account
- mouse over the Tools tab & click on Write-N-Cite
- access Write-N-Cite for Windows from the resulting screen
- install information for Write-N-Cite 4 for Windows

- Conversion of Write-N-Cite III documents to Write-N-Cite 4 documents
- Download Write-N-Cite 4.
- Open a Microsoft Word document that has been formatted using Write-N-Cite III.
- A dialog box giving the user the option to "update the document to the current format" will appear.
- Click on the Convert tab
- Proceed using Write-N-Cite 4.
- If you are prompted for a Login Code when accessing Write-N-Cite 4, please take the following steps:
- login to your RefWorks account
- mouse over the Tools tab & click on Write-N-Cite
- a Write-N-Cite Login Code will be present on the left-hand side of the Write-N-Cite download page
- copy & paste this Login Code into the Login Code box
- Note: You do not need to obtain a new login code every time you use Write-N-Cite 4. You only need a new login code if you have logged out of Write-N-Cite 4. Contact the reference department (402-280-5138 or refdesk@creighton.edu) if you need assistance.
