What letters of recommendation do I need?
Letters of evaluation are an essential part of the medical school application process. Generally speaking, we encourage Creighton students to submit 3 letters of recommendation along with their campus letter for review. The Advising Resource Center located in the Hixson-Lied Science Building offers a letter packet service to all Creighton pre-med students. See below for more information.
Additional information can be found at Letters of Recommendation.
PMED Campus Letter Information:
Creighton has joined many other top-ranked universities in offering students university-level letters to include in their applications to medical school.
· Medical schools are looking for these letters as an important part of an applicant’s dossier.
· The letter is not required, but does help to give the student an edge in the admissions process.
· Students who register for and successfully complete all 5 semesters of the seminar offered during their 4-year undergraduate program will be eligible to have a Campus Letter sent on their behalf.
The campus letter should be added into AMCAS as part of the letter packet (which will include science and non-science letters of recommendation).
Advising Resource Center (ARC) Information
If you wish to use the Creighton Letters of Recommendation service through the ARC for application to health sciences schools (of which medical school is one), when you complete the request form online (please see Applying to Medical School (paragraph 4) on the Pre-health website for information on evaluations (letters of recommendation)), your recommenders will receive an email message giving them a link and instructions for completing the recommendation. Once all of the letters are in, the Advising Resource Center staff will put together the letter packet or campus letter (which includes the letter packet) and upload it to the application service (such as AMCAS) and schools of your choice.
