Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Program

Creighton University is committed to promoting and encouraging a healthy and safe environment for students, faculty, and staff.  In continuing this commitment, Creighton piloted a new wellness benefit for employees called "The Creighton Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Program" from August 2008 to September 2009.  The purpose of this pilot program was to establish a care management healthcare service via a cooperative relationship between Creighton's Departments of Pharmacy Practice, Medicine (Division of Cardiology), and Human Resources.  The primary objective was to provide a progressive and unique patient-centered care management and wellness program to promote healthy lifestyle behaviors.  This program would strive to improve personal health and quality of life, prevent cardiovascular disease, and contain costs associated with the disease.

Due to the success of the pilot project, the program will be continued and is looking for new employees to participate.  For more information about the program and how to become a participant, please read the FAQ's, or contact the Clinical Director, Tom Lenz, Pharm.D. at tlenz@creighton.edu or 280-3144.
