Transforming Together is a three-year campus initiative to provide and promote a culture of health that assists all employees, regardless of their starting point, in reaching and maintaining a healthy weight goal through research based, innovative and supportive interventions, tools and resources.
Our goal: To contain direct costs (health care spending) and indirect costs (productivity and absenteeism) as a result of reducing Creighton employee risk for chronic diseases associated with lifestyle factors such as poor nutrition and low levels of physical activity resulting in overweight and obesity.
Presentation by Dr. Steven Blair:
Year number 2 of the Transforming Together campaign kicked off with a presentation by Physical Activity expert, Dr. Steven Blair. He discussed how even small amounts of physical activity can improve health and wellness and decrease risk of mortality. Our thanks to Dr. Blair for his great presentation titled "Physical Inactivity: The Biggest Health Risk of the 21st Century".
