Holiday Spirit  >  From Creighton's President

Dear Colleagues

As we once again prepare to celebrate the holiday season, let us not forget those in our community who need our assistance.

For more than 20 years, the Creighton community has been reaching out to those less fortunate through the annual Holiday Spirit Project.

The Holiday Spirit Project is a coordinated effort by Creighton faculty, staff and administrators to help those in need from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day.

Annually, thousands of individuals and families receive assistance through our collective efforts.

The Creighton community reaches out in a variety of ways, from sponsoring Thanksgiving meals for families in need to providing toys and gifts for children on the Rosebud Indian Reservation.

As you visit this website, browse a list of organizations whose affiliates would benefit from our support and sign-up for a project. We will publish updates of our efforts in the Creighton Today and on this website.

The Holiday Spirit Committee also will be accepting old cell phones and chargers for local women’s shelters, as well as personal care items (shampoo, soaps, lotions, toothpaste, deodorants) for the Siena/Francis House. You can drop these items off with one of the committee members listed at left.

Thank you for your generous past support of the Holiday Spirit Project. Through this effort, we are truly making a difference in our community.

Have a blessed holiday season.

Creighton University President
John P. Schlegel, S.J.
