Health Matters

Health Insurance: All international students are automatically enrolled in Creighton's Student Medical Insurance Plan upon registration. There are no exceptions to this process unless the Office of International Programs receives documentation that indicates the student is covered by a government sponsored U.S. insurance.

Immunization Requirements:

Creighton University requires immunization against specific communicable diseases to protect the entire campus community.

MMR Vaccine Requirement

2 MMR (Measles or Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines are required of all Creighton University students. Students born on or after January 1, 1957, are required to provide accurate documentation of two (2) vaccines for Measles, Mumps and Rubella. (MMR). Documentation must include the month and year of the immunization.  History of illness does not meet this requirement. 

Tuberculosis Screening Requirement

In addition to the MMR requirement, all international students are required to go through a blood test to screen for TB. 

International students can get the required immunizations from their home country.  Students are required to complete the International Student Immunization/Vaccination Requirement Form and send this to the Center for Health and Counseling one month prior to their arrival at Creighton.
