Sogang University (Seoul, South Korea)
Sogang University is a Jesuit institution located in Seoul, South Korea. Sogang University has exchange agreements with over 160 institutions in 48 countries. Approximately 20% of Sogang's academic curriculum is taught in English.
Eligibility: Students must meet all Study Abroad Eligibility Requirements as outlined in Creighton's Study Abroad Policies & Procedures.
Financial Aid: Participants will pay tuition directly to Creighton University and receive the equivalent at Sogang University. Students will be responsible for all room and board fees (paid directly to Sogang University), and any traveling expenses. If eligible, institutional aid, federal financial aid, Tuition Remission, and Tuition Exchange (FACHEX) are portable. Please check with the CU Financial Aid Office for specific inquiries. Participants are also required to purchase Creighton's insurance for international activity (purchased through OIP).
Courses: Students may choose from courses in many different subject areas including: Accounting, American Culture, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, English Literature, History, Korean Language, Management, Marketing, Math, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology. Program Duration: Fall semester usually runs from September to December. Spring semester usually runs from March to June.
On-Site Assistance: The Office of International Affairs will assist students during their stay. The staff members at Sogang are dedicated to making students' stay as memorable and comfortable as possible.
How to Apply: Students must first complete the CU Proposal to Study Abroad and the CU Study Abroad Course Approval Form (internal documents). Once these are complete, students will then complete Sogang University's online application (external document).
Deadlines: The CU Proposal to Study Abroad for Fall semester participation is due no later than March 1st and for Spring semester participation it is due no later than October 1st. However, because there are a limited number of spots on this program it is strongly recommend that interested students submit their CU Proposal to Study Abroad as early as possible.
