Proposal to Study Abroad

ONLINE PROPOSAL FORM
Step 1: Proposal to Study Abroad Online Form (DO THIS FIRST)
Click on the link above to complete the online application. It should take you only 5-10 minutes to complete the online form. After you have submitted the online Proposal to Study Abroad, you should begin working on the supporting documentation as outlined below. Your Proposal to Study Abroad will not be reviewed until all supporting documentation has been received.

SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION
Step 2: Student Acknowledgement Form
(pdf)
Print this form, read and sign. Once complete, this form should be dropped off to the OIP front desk or mailed to the address below, along with your other supporting documents. All original forms must be received; faxes and scanned copies and electronic signatures are not accepted.

Step 3: Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement Form (pdf)
Ask your parent/guardian to complete this form and mail it back to you, so that you may include it with the other supporting documentation you submit to the OIP. All original forms must be received; faxes and scanned copies and electronic signatures are not accepted. Regardless of age, all undergraduate students proposing to study abroad are REQUIRED to obtain a parent/guardian signature.

Step 4: Statement of Purpose
Drop off, or mail a 1-2 page statement of purpose to the OIP (no emails, please!). We suggest that you turn in all supporting documentation at the same time. Be sure your name appears on your essay. Your essay should address the following questions:

  • Why have you chosen to participate in the specific study abroad program listed on your Proposal? Please be as specific as possible.
(i.e.-If you are proposing to study abroad in Ireland, please explain not only why you wish to study in Ireland, but also explain why you have selected this particular program in Ireland vs. any other program in Ireland).
  • How will participation in this specific study abroad program meet your academic, personal, and professional goals?

All supporting documentation should be dropped off to the OIP front desk (Harper 4036) during office hours (M-F, 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m.) or mailed to:
