Collaborative Care Seminars

There is increasing emphasis on the delivery of integrated, interdisciplinary, patient-centered healthcare. The seminar is designed to provide Creighton health professions students and students of related disciplines an opportunity to learn from and about each other's professional roles and responsibilities. One half-day seminar is offered each semester for students in dentistry, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social work.

Seminar Objectives

1. To promote personal reflection about the identification of roles and responsibilities in patient care within one's own health profession.

2. To expand students' knowledge of other health professions and promote interprofessional understanding of other health professionals' roles and responsibilities in patient care.

3. To identify and discuss gaps and mismatches in understanding of one's own health discipline and other disciplines in the context of patient care.

Seminars are held one Friday each semester from noon - 4:30 p.m. in the Skutt Student Center Ballroom.
