Campus Improvement
The Campus Improvement Committee is a specific committee whose purpose is to address student concern about general life on campus. If you or someone you know has a specific improvement that you feel is necessary to improve campus life, contact your residence hall or apartment president. Recycled Materials Sculpture Contest
Guidelines for Recycling Awareness Week Recycling Sculpture Contest
· The sculpture must be made out of only recycled items which may include the following:
o Soda Cans
o Newspapers
o Re-used papers
· All materials used in the sculpture must follow university policies. The use of cans, paper or other materials depicting alcohol will disqualify the sculpture.
· The maximum dimensions for the sculpture will be determined by the Resident Director or Apartment Coordinator
· The display will be in a set location determined by the RD/AC.
· The display must be approved by the RD/ARD/AC and must be placed in the location determined by the RD/AC
· The display must have a proper label so that the judges know who will receive the prize
· The deadline for submission to the contest is 3:30 PM on Friday, November 21, 2008
· A Panel of Judges from Inter Residence Hall Government will judge these sculptures
o The sculpture will be judged on the following categories:
1. Creativity
2. Usage of Recycled Material
3. Appearance of Effort
4. Message/Theme
o Each category will be 10 points each with a total of 40 points
o In an event of a tie, the panel of judges will convene and decide one winner
· The campus-wide winners will be announced at the Gallagher Hall Toga Extravaganza on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 9:00 PM. 1ST prize is $60.00 giftcard , 2nd prize is $30.00 giftcard and 3rd prize is $10 giftcard. All giftcards are to BestBuy.
· The display must be removed by Sunday, November 23, 2008, or on a date designated by the RD/AC, otherwise it will be recycled.
· Any breach of the guidelines will result in the sculpture being disqualified
