Course Completion

What's involved in taking an ISP course?

If applicable, upon receipt of the Course Enrollment Application, you will receive a course guidebook. The course guidebook contains the information you will need to complete your course. Most instructors will evaluate your assignment and provide helpful comments. The instructors comments are important in the learning process. Assignments must be turned in one at a time for evaluation. Your graded assignment will be returned to you, after which you may turn in the next assignment. After you have completed all assignments and exams, your course grade will be reported to the Office of the Registrar at Creighton University and a grade report will be issued to the student.

Can I work at my own pace?

Yes. If you need to complete an ISP course by a certain date, you should enroll early enough to take into consideration any possible vacation periods by the instructor. Contact the ISP coordinator if you have any questions regarding the availability of an instructor for a particular course.

The minimum time allowed to complete a course is 12 weeks and the maximum time allowed is 6 months from the enrollment date. Should you not complete the course in 6 months, you may request a one-time 3-month extension for $240. In addition, at least half of the course requirements must be submitted to the ISP office for evaluation prior to your original deadline date. Bear in mind, assignments are turned in one at a time for evaluation and your graded assignment is returned to you before you submit your next assignment.

Sutdents not completing a course within six months of enrollment will be assigned a permanent grade of Incomplete and the grade will be reported to the Registrar. A student may withdraw from an ISP course at any time, including extension periods. A permanent grade of Withdraw will be assigned and the grade will be reported to the Registrar.
