Resources & Inventory
Welcome!
The Hitchcock Language Resource Center (HLRC) offers access
to the Internet, laser print services (10 cents/page), and a variety of
software for the languages taught in Classical and Near Eastern Studies
and Modern Languages and Literatures. The following programs
are available on CD, LAN server, or on the homepage. For further assistance,
please contact the lab assistants (Tel. x2521) or the director (Tel.x2505).

On-line
On-line resources seem to be expanding daily. One place to
start is by visiting the Bookmarks for Languages at CU page
via the HLRC homepage (http://www.creighton.edu/langlab).
Two other resources that give students practice on-line are first http://www.quia.com
for all languages and subjects, and second for Spanish http://www.studyspanish.com.

Lab resources
Many lab resources are on the local server (via the LangLab
Server icon on the desktop). Click on the appropriate language folder
for access to any class materials. Other resources are on CDs and can
be checked out with a valid student ID. The lab has two TV viewing stations,
one is connected to a VCR for viewing VHS tapes. These TVs are connected
to campus cable. The HLRC owns a multi-standard VCR for viewing other
international video standards and a Marantz tape recorder with a quality
shotgun microphone. One scanner station (see 2-level table by the window)
has OCR, video, audio, and image editing software.
