HOLD Applicants
As our Admissions Committee is reviewing applications, they may decide to admit, deny, or hold an application.  A Hold status is not the same as the Alternate List/Wait List status.  When reviewing an application, the Admissions Committee may feel that they cannot make a decision at that time regarding a particular application.  Thus, they temporarily set aside the application and conduct a second review of the application later in the admissions cycle, generally in March and April.

Applicants whose application has been placed on hold are welcome to submit additional materials; however, it is not required.  Additional materials accepted include:
• Additional letters of recommendation.
• Statement of continued interest in the Creighton University School of Law.
• Addendum highlighting awards, activities, or work experiences achieved since the application was first submitted.
• Updated transcripts (if any new grades have been received).
You can send additional materials to lawadmit@creighton.edu or send a hard copy directly to the school.

Throughout March and April, our Admissions Committee will be conducting a second review of the applications placed on hold.  Applicants will be notified as soon as a decision is made.

Applicants whose application is placed on hold are welcome to visit the Creighton University School of Law.  During a visit, the applicant will meet with admissions, tour the school, and meet with current students.  However, the visit will not include an interview with the Admissions Committee.

ALTERNATE LIST/WAIT LIST Applicants
Our Admissions Committee begins offering students seat on our Alternate List (Wait List), in mid-April.  Applicants who receive an email offering them a seat on our Alternate List do need to confirm their interest in remaining on that list by emailing the Admissions Office at lawadmit@creighton.edu.  Should seats open in our Entering Class, our Admissions Committee will review the applications of those students who are confirmed on the Alternate List.  The Alternate List is not ranked.  All applications that are confirmed on the Alternate List are considered when seats become available.

Applicants on the Alternate List are welcome to submit additional materials including:
• Additional letters of recommendation.
• Statement of continued interest in the Creighton University School of Law.
• Addendum highlighting awards, activities, or work experiences achieved since the application was first submitted.
• Updated transcripts (if any new grades have been received).
You can send additional materials to lawadmit@creighton.edu or send a hard copy directly to the school.

The number of applicants who are admitted from the Alternate List varies significantly from year to year.  We activate our Alternate List when a seat(s) opens in our Entering Class.  When we activate the Alternate List and how many students we admit depends entirely upon the number of deposited students who withdraw from our Entering Class.

Our Admissions Office will contact Alternate List applicants by email and/or phone if their status on our Alternate List has changed.  Our Alternate List is open and active until the first day of fall semester classes.

Applicants who have been placed on our Alternate List are welcome to visit the Creighton University School of Law.  During a visit, the applicant will meet with admissions staff, tour the school, and meet with current students.  However, the visit will not include an interview with the Admissions Committee.
