One important issue you may be thinking about as you prepare for law school is where to live. We hope the following information will help you in your housing search. Please contact us if we can offer additional assistance.
On-Campus Housing
Creighton University does have one on-campus apartment-style residence hall, Heider Hall, for graduate and professional school students. Heider Hall requires a 12-month lease, running from August 1 to July 31. Students who are interested in Heider Hall should contact the Department of Residence Life as soon as possible, as space in Heider Hall is very limited.
Off-Campus Housing
A helpful resource for locating off-campus housing is the Creighton Real Estate with Honors site. This site is is coordinated by Real Estate with Honors, Creighton's Department of Residence Life partner, and is intended only as an off-campus housing resource for students. No part of this search listing should be regarded as legal advice. Creighton University's Department of Residence Life strongly suggests that students inspect possible rental properties in person and read all contracts, leases and other documents carefully before signing.
Also, check out the Marketplace section of the Omaha World-Herald. The Marketplace "Home" section lists apartments and duplexes, as well as homes for sale or rent. Two areas relatively close to Creighton are "Dundee" (located at approximately 50th & Dodge Streets) and "Memorial Park" (located at approximately 60th & Dodge Streets). Both contain many older homes converted to apartments. Omaha’s downtown area also contains a number of apartment buildings which are within walking distance to Creighton and are near or a part of the historic Old Market area. In addition, new apartments are continually springing up along Omaha’s west side.
The Law School Admissions Office occasionally receives rental postings directly from area property managers and owners. Those postings are available here:
