David R. Stickman

Mr. Stickman is the Federal Public Defender for the District of Nebraska. He was appointed to this position by the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in 1993, and was re-appointed in 1997, 2001 and 2005. Mr. Stickman received a B.S.B.A. degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1978 and his J.D. degree from the Washington College of Law at The American University in 1981. Mr. Stickman is Past President of the National Association of Federal Defenders, and the Nebraska Criminal Defense Attorneys Association. He has been a Commissioner of the Nebraska Commission on Public Advocacy since its inception. Mr. Stickman is also the Past-President of the Robert Spire Inns of Court. He is an ex-officio member of the Federal Practice Committee of the United States District Court. He was appointed to the Minority and Justice Task Force of the Nebraska Supreme Court in 1999 and is a current member of the Minority and Justice Committee of the Nebraska Supreme Court.
